# Emails won't send

> Fix the outgoing server setting, login block or full mailbox that stops your email from sending.

If email will not send, the cause is almost always a wrong outgoing server setting, a login block or a full mailbox, not a broken account.

## Check your outgoing (SMTP) settings

1. Confirm the outgoing server is `mail.officeniaga.com`.
2. Use port **465** with SSL/TLS. Port 587 is closed on our server, so change it if that is what your app is using.
3. Turn on authentication and sign in with your **full email address** and password, not just your name.

See [Email server settings](/server-settings/) for every protocol's settings in one place.

## Check for other causes

- **Repeated wrong password** - too many failed logins can block your connection. See [Locked out after too many wrong passwords](/locked-out/).
- **Mailbox full** - a full mailbox can stop you saving sent mail, not just receiving. See [Mailbox full](/mailbox-full/).
- **Message came back** - if it left your outbox and returned, that is a bounce, not a send failure. See [Understand a bounce message](/bounce-message/).

> **Tip**
> If your message does send but lands in the recipient's spam folder, see [Why your emails land in spam](/emails-going-to-spam/).
>
> Webmail uses the same server, so if a message sends fine after you [log in to webmail](/log-in/) but not from an app, the problem is in that app's settings.

## Common issues

### My mail app shows an authentication error and won't send. What's wrong?

Check that your outgoing (SMTP) server is mail.officeniaga.com on port 465 with SSL/TLS and authentication on, using your full email address and password. See Email server settings (/server-settings/).

### I can send from webmail but not from Outlook or my phone. Why?

The app's outgoing settings are wrong, often port 587, which is closed on our server. Use port 465 with SSL/TLS instead.

### Everything looks right but sending still fails. What else could it be?

Too many wrong password attempts can block your connection, and a full mailbox can also cause problems. See Locked out after too many wrong passwords (/locked-out/) and Mailbox full (/mailbox-full/).
