# Recover a deleted email

> Find an email you deleted by mistake and move it back to your Inbox, and learn what to do if it is not in Deleted Items.

A deleted email usually goes to your **Deleted Items** folder. You can move it back to your **Inbox** from there. On Google Workspace, see [Recover deleted emails or Drive files in Google Workspace](/workspace-recover-deleted/).

## Move it back from Deleted Items

1. [Log in to webmail](/log-in/).
2. Open the **Deleted Items** folder.
3. Sort by date, or search by sender or subject, to find the email.
4. Move the email to **Inbox**, or to any other folder. See [Folders and flags](/folders-flags/) if you are not sure how.

## If it is not in Deleted Items

1. Check **Junk Email** and your other folders. A filter may have moved the email rather than deleted it. See [Not receiving an email](/not-receiving/).
2. If you read email with POP3, the email may only be on the computer or phone that downloaded it. Look in the **Deleted Items** or **Trash** folder of that app. See [IMAP or POP3](/imap-vs-pop3/).
3. If you still cannot find it, contact support on WhatsApp at [+60 16-916 3324](https://wa.me/60169163324) or email support@webimpian.com. Tell us your email address and roughly when the email arrived.

> **Caution**
> Emptying **Deleted Items** removes those emails permanently. Before you empty it to free up space, move anything you want to keep to another folder. See [Mailbox full](/mailbox-full/).

## Common issues

### I deleted an email by mistake. Is it gone for good?

Usually not. Open the Deleted Items folder in webmail and move the email back to your Inbox.

### The email is not in Deleted Items. Where else can I look?

Check Junk Email and your other folders, and use search. If you use POP3, the email may only be on the device that downloaded it - see IMAP or POP3 (/imap-vs-pop3/).

### I already emptied Deleted Items. Can you get the email back?

Contact support on WhatsApp at +60 16-916 3324 (https://wa.me/60169163324) with your email address and roughly when the email arrived. We will check what is possible, but we cannot promise recovery.
